Upcoming LEGO Contests

Well, the May/June LEGO Magazine is out, and there are 3 contests mentioned in it.

1. The Gold C-3P0 Contest
See my last post.

2. LEGO Star Wars Movie-Making Contest
This contest has not yet begun, the Magazine is simply hyping it.

Think you’ve got what it takes to make the next big Star Wars movie? You can show off your cinematic Jedi skills by taking part in our Movie-Making Contest! Create a 3-minute (or less) LEGO Star Wars video and upload it for all to see on our website…or just come and vote for your favorite mini-movie entry!

3. LEGO Exo-Force Building Challenge
According to the article, you are supposed to create the "Ultimate Battle Machine." Entries are due July 1st, 2007

These are the Droids You're Looking For

Kaminoan, on www.fbtbforums.net, has information on LEGO's newest contest.
Send a letter or postcard with your name, Age, Address and Daytime phone number to:

Golden C-3P0 Contest
P.O. Box 1179
Enfield, CT 06083
USA

All entries must be received by November 1st, 2007

Good luck, 5 solid gold droids are available and will be chosen randomly from all the entries received, and announced on www.LEGO.com/STARWARS in December, 2007!

According to the fine print the little droid is valued at $1200.00. Not too bad a prize.

Good luck to all who enter!

The Wizard's Challenge

The Brickster, of EuroBricks, is hosting the "Wizard's Challenge."

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to create your very own Wizard minifigure. As a secondary challenge, you may also build the interior of your wizard's workshop.

No prizes have been announced, but I found the idea neat enough to warrant a blog post.

This contest ends May 2nd, so get your entries in now!

A Call for Help

Believe it or not, I can't be everywhere.
I also know that there are several LEGO fansites and forums that I don't regularly read.

If you plan to host a contest, someone you know is going to host a contest, or a site you frequent is holding a contest that I haven't blogged, let me know. My email address is on the right side.

ThePlasticJedi's X-Wing Evolution Contest

ThePlasticJedi, of www.fbtbforums.net, is hosting the "X-Wing Evolution Contest!"

The idea is to design a medium-sized fighter with its own personality, yet a retention of the X-Wing look and feel. Your new fighter should be an improvement upon the original, so be sure to post what's been changed.

The prizes are:
1st Place: 6208 B-wing
2nd Place: 6206 Tie Interceptor
3rd Place: 6207 A-wing
(Plus two honerable [sic] mentions)
A lot of folks from the FBTB community are turning out for this, so expect to see some high-quality results!

The only thing required is a post in this thread. The deadline has not been announced, but he is calling this a "Monthly Giveaway."
Good luck to everyone!

And the Winner is . . .

Well, it's been over a week since my last post, so I thought I'd let you all know that the results are in from the FBTB Episode III UCS Contest.

In first place was Pepa Quin, with his ARC-170 fighter.

Coming in second was Olog, with his V-Wing (my personal favorite).

Following in third was wintermoog and his Droid Trifighter.

And, tying for fourth place were badgerboy and Pro/E Jedi, with the UCS General Grievous' Stafighter and P-38 Starfighter, respectively.

Congratulations, guys!

Ninja-Knight's Ninja Giveaway

Ninja-Knight, of Classic-Castle Forums, is hosting a Ninja Giveaway. Nothing is required except for a post.
If you are randomly selected, you will win either a Shogun and Samurai or a Robber, all fully armed. The deadline is March 10th.
I'd wish you all "Good luck!" except for the fact that I'm in this too. :P

Mechanization Contest

Memory, at Perhaps Plastic Explosives, has an interesting contest. Your goal? Create a "working mechanism" from LEGO. Although no prizes have been specified at this point in time, they have been mentioned in the contest thread. Check it out!

Thanks to ThePlasticJedi for sending this in!

LDraw Monthly Contests

LDraw.org hosts 2 monthly contests.

1. Model/Scene of the Month
Using LDraw, create a model or a scene. Fairly basic, but it's turned up some interesting results. There's no prize for this one except for the illustrious glory that will doubtlessly ensue.

2. Part of the Month
If you create a new part in LDraw, you can enter it into this contest. Fairly standard, this contest follows the model of the the former.

Thanks again to Bruce N H for the tip!

Two Vignette Contests

Saber-Scorpion's Lair Forums have two contests running.

1. Best Movie Scene Vignette
Can you build a good-looking vignette from a movie? If so you'll want to check this contest out. Details right now are sketchy, but the prize "may include some decals." There is no end date as of yet.

2. Song Vig Contest
Like the first, the objective for this contest is to build a vignette, however this one must focus on lyrics from a son. (Though nothing explicit) Again, details are vague, so check it out with the link.

Thank you to Bruce N H for sending this in!

Castle Contest

,

Classic-Castle.com is holding a whammy of a contest.
The idea? Build a Castle creation from one of the category, and win one of LEGO's new 2007 Castle sets of that category. The kicker? You get this set months before anyone else.
Interested? Check it out.

Brickfilm Contests

There are a few contests going on at Brickfilms.com right now:

1. Masterpieces of Brickfilming
Not for the faint of heart, the MoB contest is looking to produce
. . . well, masterpieces. The deadline is a ways away, specifically December 30th, 2007. The host of the contest is awarding $50 cash prizes to the winners in each category. There are plenty of rules and stipulations, so if you're interested, I'd advise you to
check out the link.

2. E.A.S.T.E.R.
A much different contest, the "Enjoy A Short Transient Event Right-away" contest wants people to make a short, 15-seconds or less, film that provides a summing up of Easter. As of now, the prize has not yet been announced, but it "will be modest." Deadline is April 10th, 2007.

3. The Nadine and Charlie 2007 Music Video Competition Nadine and Charlie, a music group wants brickfilmers to make a music video with one of their songs. They are offering "200 British Pounds for first place,50 British Pounds for a runner up, and 50 British Pounds for an other runner up." The deadline is April 30th, 2007.

4. The TTC Contest
A fairly open-ended contest designed to promote the use of the Theora video codec. The prizes, however, are very impressive.
1. A final draft script of the film "The Empire Strikes Back" autographed by George Lucas, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Alec Guinness, Frank Oz, Kenny Baker, Billy Dee Williams, Pete Mayhew, Dave Prowse, and George Hull.

2. A revised, first draft script of the film "Gladiator" autographed by Ridley Scott, Russell Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix, and Connie Nielson."

Deadline is May 5th, 2007.

FBTB's UCS Contest

Yeah, yeah, I know you're wondering what the point is of blogging a contest that's not accepting entries anymore.

Well, the contest, found here, is currently accepting votes as to the winner.
So, if you're a member of FBTB, go vote!
If you're not a member, you might think about becoming one.

Also, here is the contest http://www.flickr.com/photos/blue-moose/sets/72157594552648937/.
Today's the last day, so don't dilly-dally!
